Right now I'm totally obsessing over bright, flowing skirts with plain or printed tees! To me the look is perfect for summer, ultra feminine, dressy without being over the top and perfectly doubles from day to night. Here are some of my fave pics:
I don't have a waist anymore. I am not sure where it went. I know it was there a few years ago. Anyway wearing skirts like these is not an option for me. I look like a brick with a frill. They are very pretty and feminine though.
OMG Mrs G! your comment was so frankly worded that it made me laugh aloud. i know we've spoken previously of how aging sucks but your comment has me contemplating the aging process and the inevitability of its stripping every woman's vanity! what else can we do but laugh?
Hi Lena and Erica - I know about the loss of waist! Love the look of the skirts and Anthropologie has a store here now in central London ... some people just naturally have that ability to look smart .. I can't wear lots of fabrics and that's so inhibiting .. but there we go ...
The first one is the one that really appeals, though I love the long one, but that would be impractical ... enjoy the summer freedom ... cheers Hilary
Hi Hilary :) You girls are making me think I should only wear outfits that emphasize my waist until I (inevitably also) loose it, that way I can say that I made the most of it while I had the chance :P
Anthropologie is one of my favourite stores in the world! Have you been in to check it out? It's full of eclectic goodies for the house, like tea towels, pots for plants, kitchen utensils, crockery and candles that smell like heaven! I'd strongly recommend a visit, if you haven't already.
Hope you enjoy summer and its freedom too - truthfully I'm dreading ours a little since it's my first summer in Austin and they're infamously brutal!!
