A strange phenomenon has been taking place in Austin since winter officially began: the weeks are cold, grey and miserable but just in time for every weekend - the sun comes out and temperatures rise to glorious heights that allow the city's residents to enjoy the outdoors! Could it be the result of collective consciousness? I hope so but whether or not it's mere coincidence, Will and I are very grateful for these weekends and don't want them to end.
This particular weekend was greeted on Friday night at the Shoal Creek Salon, where we celebrated the Olympic Games opening ceremony with friends in a booth with our very own TV; followed by a trip to wholefoods where we stocked up on desert, a Saturday visit to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center for a little education, an Indian dinner, a run around Bull Creek with the pups, an all you can eat Mexican buffet with more friends on Sunday and finally wrapping up the season of Ripper St we've been enjoying on netflix that night.

in the end, we decided on the carrot cake <3 |
so apparently Asia isn't the only place you can buy edible insects... |
Basically the perfect weekend.
