Dinner for a cause

Monday, January 20, 2014

Last night Will and I attended an event that proves how closely the hospitality industry in Austin sticks together.  To help out one of their own, four of Austin's trendiest restaurants got together to cook up a storm and raise some money for Leah Ortiz, a server from Uchiko who, last summer, was in a horrendous motorcycle accident that left her with over $140K in medical bills.

The host restaurant was Swift's Attic - a place we hadn't been before but somewhere we will definitely visit again.  The decor and intimate space where perfect for this fundraiser which was attended by many of Leah's family and where the honest generosity of her co-workers were deeply felt and we felt very lucky to contribute in some small way as well.
